Shopper charged with leaving dog in car at Tinton Falls mall
TINTON FALLS - A Morris County man was arrested and charged Thursday with one count of animal cruelty for leaving a dog unattended in a car parked at a shopping mall, authorities said.
James G. Krah, 61, of Mountain Lakes was charged around 3:15 p.m. with leaving his small breed dog in a car parked at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets shopping center on Route 66, said Victor "Buddy" Amato, chief law enforcement officer of the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The dog, which had no available food or water for nearly an hour, was freed from the car by Patrolman Joseph LoPresti. Krah was located at the shopping center, Amato said.
