Man fined $250 for leaving dog in car at Tinton Falls outlet mall

TINTON FALLS - A 61-year-old Morris County man has been fined $250 for leaving his dog in his car at a Route 66 shopping center, officials said.

James G. Krah, of Mountain Lakes, pleaded guilty this morning in municipal court to animal cruelty, said said Victor "Buddy" Amato, chief of the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The judge ordered Krah to pay the fine for leaving his small-breed dog unattended in the car at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets on July 16, said Amato.

The dog had no food or water available for nearly an hour, until it was freed from the vehicle by a local police officer, authorities said.
