Tinton Falls woman charged with cruelty toward two dogs

TINTON FALLS - A Tinton Falls woman has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities say they found two emaciated dogs Monday evening.

After getting a tip from the Associated Humane Society in the borough, Sgt. Matthew Juliano of the Monmouth County chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals went to a home on Lennox Drive around 6:30 p.m.

At that home, he discovered two dogs: a 2-year-old male pit bull named Harpo and a 2-year-old female Australian sheepdog, named Isabella, said SPCA Chief Victor "Buddy" Amato.

He said the ribs of both dogs were visible and both animals were severely dehydrated, so both were removed from the home and taken to the Red Bank animal hospital.

Carole L. McCall, 45, was charged with four counts of animal cruelty. She is expected to appear in municipal court on July 14.
