Brick man, 19, fined $1G for spray-painting obscenities at Howell farm

HOWELL - A Brick man was fined $1,000 after admitting he spray-painted obscenities and pictures of male genitalia on a horse, barn and other structures at a Maxim Road farm owned by one of his teachers, according to Victor "Buddy" Amato, Chief of Police for the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Tyler J. Aponte, 19, of the 1600 block of Forge Pond Road in Brick, admitted in court Wednesday that on Feb. 27, 2010, he went to the farm of a Brick Township High School teacher, where he painted obscenities and a depiction of male genitalia on the side of a barn and other structures before turning his spray-paint can on a horse, on which he also painted male genitalia, Amato said.

Aponte later posted pictures of the paintings on the Internet and word quickly spread about his deeds, Amato said.

On Wednesday, Aponte admitted to the artistry and was fined $1,000, Amato added.

In March, Aponte and another man were indicted in string of vehicle burglaries in his hometown.

On Aug. 17, Aponte was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose after allegedly shooting people with a paintball gun on Tilford Boulevard.
