Shrewsbury pest control manager is charged with leaving critters in traps

The manager of a Western Pest Control franchise in Shrewsbury has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities claimed four animals were left unattended for several days in traps set at the Pine Tree Trailer Park, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press.

The report said the charges against William Webb were filed Monday. The Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals investigated after a woman called Saturday to complain that the animals -- two skunks, an opossum and a raccoon -- had been left in Western's traps for at least three days.
