Props to the MCSPCA

In the aftermath of so many animal cruelty cases coming to light I would like to take a second to point out the excellent work of the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MCSPCA).

When animal abuse is reported to police the case is ultimately referred to the MCSPCA, investigated thoroughly and dealt with properly. For instance, when residents were concerned with the number of cats Anthony Appolonia was adopting, the MCSPCA looked into and discovered the disturbing truth of abuse. Fortunately, animal abusers are charged and put in the spot light, which helps protect future animals.

In particular MCSPCA Police Chief Victor "Buddy" Amato displays a passion for his work to protect animals. Amato takes calls at all times of the day, not only to protect animals, but to get the word out there about those people animals may need protection from.

I hadn't realized that the MCSPCA is not funded by the state or the county. In fact, the organization is run on donations from people. I know times are hard for many people, but hey these people do good work that many wouldn't have the stomach to handle. Visit the MCSPCA Web site for more information or to make a donation.
