Suspend license for animal cruelty
In the Aug. 2 Press, there was an article about a Neptune City-based pest control business that left a raccoon in a trap to die in the hot sun. The company did not follow up on checking the trap. The penalty is a $1,000 fine - probably about the same amount the company makes in an hour.
When is this state going to wake up and start punishing these companies by suspending their business license and hit them in their pockets where it really hurts? I commend Victor "Buddy" Amato, police chief of the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, on the great job he is doing and wish he had more pull in making laws regarding animal cruelty.
