Saddam Hussein was a tyrant in the truest sense of the word. He is evil. He murdered people. He made nations go to war for the sake of spreading his diseased form of government beyond Iraq's borders. As a direct result of his rule, there are literally millons of people dead, Americans included. During his last public appearance, when the war was going on, Hussein said he would fight to the death and never be taken. Both things were a lie. He did not fight to the death and he was captured without a fight. A troop of French Boy Scouts could have put up a stiffer fight than Hussein. He is a coward. His sons, who were monsters in their own right, are dead. And, perhaps, after a fair trail, he could join them. Saddam Hussein's fate is in the hands of the world and I can only hope that the "World" does not start mouthing the mantra "We'll be no better then he is if he is executed" If anyone deserved execution, if is Saddam Hussein. His victims are not in a position to be able to advocate for execution, because they are not able to speak anymore. In America, many of our country's sons and daughters have died fighting for Iraqi freedom. None of our services would have had to travel around the world and fight if not for Saddam Hussein, his death camps and his weapons of mass destruction. In the end, this would-be king of the world was nothing more than a lice-ridden rat, hiding in a hole burrowed in the earth to keep him from having to fight to the death. He hid like the coward that he is and when he was finally caught, he received kinder treatment than any of his victims ever did. The worst thing that could happen right now is that the voices of the politically correct rise above the issue with their inevitable message of not resorting to the death penalty. A Saddam Hussein, who is alive and in a prison somewhere, becomes the motivation for airline hijackings, acts of terror and various crimes. the demand would be a simple one: Release Sadddam Hussein. To that end, countless, men, women and children, in countries throughout the world would be placed in peril. All of this would be in the name of the politically correct. If creating a martyr is a scary thing to do, than not resorting to the death penalty leaves a real-life messiah for a host of "nut jobs" who will be trying to prove how "dedicated" they are to the causes that nut jobs are drawn to, by trying to free the ultimate nut job, Saddam Hussein. Saddam is a cancer in the world. In fact, it is an insult to cancer to say that he is cancerous. He's a monster and sometimes, there is no rehabilition for a monster, except for making sure that it can never terrorize "villagers" again.
