America should thank its vets
    by BUDDY AMATO

Now is a time when Americans need to stand up for our soldiers, our veterans and our country. In battlefields around the world, our young men and women, so many of which are from our own area are fighting for us.

I support our military, and I support our President and this war on the filthy terrorists and thugs that have threatened the peace of Americans all over the world.

It was not America that started any war. It was not America that sheltered terrorists and worked to kill innocent men, women and children in the United States and elsewhere.

It was not America that killed, raped. looted and plundered its neighbors and tried to spread that nonsense all over the world. But, it is America that brought that to a screeching halt, in Afghanistan and in Iraq.

I think all of us owe an amazing debt to the men and women who serve and have served, and I especially want to thank and send out my condolences to the families of Americans who have gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

They are heroes and we should all remember that the liberty that we take for granted every day was bought and paid for with the blood of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines, not only in this war, but in the wars before.

These wars are still going on, none of us should forget that. Our servicemen and women are still getting killed and are still in combat. But, they are not dying for nothing and they are fighting for freedom. I think people should remember how far President Bus has brought us since 9/11 with the election that is upcoming.

Leadership in government is important, and I think that people should not forget about when the September 11th tragedy happened, and how hard it was for everyone to bet back on their feet again after that.

War is a terrible thing, and I am not alone in hoping that there is a time not so long from now when war will not be necessary. But for now, I hope everyone giver all the support they can to our American heroes who are fighting on the front lines of freedom for everyone back here in the States.
