John Kerry doesn’t deserve to be the president of the United States. I don’t know who is running against Sheriff Joe Oxley. Well, I’ve heard his name, but his points were so valuable that I entirely forgot who the guy was. Couldn’t pick him out of a crowd, and wouldn’t want to either. President George Bush has seen this country through the worst period of its history in the days, weeks and years after September 11th. I believe that there is only one qualified person in the race for president...George Bush. I also believe that Joe Oxley is the right person, at the right place, for the right job here in Monmouth County. Joe Oxley has made an incredible contribution to the public good. Our Sheriff’s Department has won national-level accreditation in several categories; most sheriff’s departments around this country do not have national accreditation in even one category. National accreditation is a painstaking process that demands the very best be proven and demonstrated from any department that is being evaluated. Leadership begins at the top and is demonstrated at every level of supervision. Joe Oxley is an inspirational leader for the Sheriff’s Department and he has earned being re-elected. Recently, I was trying to think of why I should vote for Kerry or whoever is running against Oxley, and nothing came to mind. John Kerry married the heiress to the Heinz ketchup company. Well, that’s not out of line, since he has 57 opinions on any given question that you ask him, and her company has a sauce with 57 flavors in it. Part of communication is communicating simply with coherent thought. George Bush has taken a stand in this world and Americans are safer for it. I think that he deserves to be the president again and I hope that I’m not alone on that one. Meanwhile, here in Monmouth, Joe Oxley has done the first thing that a sheriff needs to do: Keep people safe and educate them about how to be more safe in their own lives. His department is the author of many programs that are geared to public awareness and, as a parent and a law enforcement officer, I cannot help but heartily endorse him for re-election to the sheriff’s position.
