Since 9/11, many people have been forced to open their eyes to things that before were just tolerated. The simple fact is that our country was built on good immigrants from all around the world. However, a new breed of low-life third-world terrorists has slithered into this country under the pretense that they want to be American citizens, while at the same time plotting against it. There was a time when our borders were so open that any one could come to this country and stay. Since 9/11 these restrictions have been restructured and people are being scrutinized before they are being allowed access into our country. Every day we hear about OEsleeper cells' that exist in this country and, thank God, they are now being sought after and dealt with. It is a sad commentary that many of these terrorists are actually citizens of this country. In my opinion, we cannot tolerate, in any way, treasonous acts toward citizens of this great country. Whether someone is an American born citizen or not, it doesn't matter, if they are plotting against the country they should be punished, harshly. The unfortunate fact is that there are too many bleeding-heart liberals who will defend these terrorists because of their right under our Constitution. However, when the Constitution and the Bill of Rights were drafted our forefathers made basic provisions against treason. We, as a country, need to crackdown on treason and terrorism, because terrorism is treason. It is time we used common sense when dealing with people that do not appreciate our way of life. However, if someone is caught acting out as a terrorist and found guilty as one, then deal with them harshly and consistently. Terrorists are not normal people, they are fanatics. These fanatics will preach hate against our way of life but at the same time want to enjoy all of its benefits. Prison is not enough. Many terrorists come from under developed countries, where everyday life is very difficult. American prisons would seem like a vacation instead of a sentence with: three square meals a day, color television, a gym, free dental and medical care. All at the taxpayers expense! We as Americans need to pass laws that deal with harsh crimes against our families in harsh ways. We need the liberals to open up their eyes, scrape out the beans and make coffee. When a person is caught preaching anti-American rhetoric they should, at the very least, be scrutinized and simply asked to leave this country and find one that better suits their anti-American needs. These views may seem stern but no more stern than the 2,800 dead Americans that will not be coming home from the World Trade Center. These views may also seem like the freedom of speech and the freedom of expression is being taken away, you're wrong! But, expressing oneself doesn't give anyone the right to plot against our country. If you don't like America, leave. Stop hiding behind the rights that you protest against. We cannot take these people lightly and must realize that terrorists, like termites, if not treated and eliminated, will eat at our very foundation.
