In many cases of animal abuse, there sometimes can be understandable excuses. This is true even though those excuses are usually very poor. This case is unfortunately one for the books and probably because it could have been so easily avoided. Picture a loving animal, in this case a small dog of maybe 12 pounds. Picture this dog being loved and cared for to the point where the owners have a special Christmas sock made for the holidays. All of a sudden, this small loved dog is locked in a house and no one comes back, on top of that the water the dog has is in the toilet! By the way, the toilet is filled with human feces. The lowlife owner did not have the decency to at least flush the more intelligent part of her down the bowl. So this dog, in order to survive, begins ransacking everything in the home that is edible. It goes through Hungry Man Jack boxes, Oven Starter mix; the poor animal even eats dried, uncooked rice to survive. But, no matter how much food it finds in the house, it is forced to drink through the feces packed toilet bowl and its downfall begins. This type of death is no quick ending. This animal suffered and did so for a long time. The entire home, by the time I was brought into this situation, was covered in feces. The main reason is because the animal, after drinking what it could out of the toilet, became sick and it could not stop the long process of death. There was absolutely no one to come and help it. What makes me sick is the so-called human owner only had to pick up the phone and call anyone and say, 'My dog is in the house and no one is available to feed it or take care of it.' If this had been done, someone would have, at the very least, been able to get to the dog and feed it and probably adopted it out to a family who at least flushes their toilets on a regular basis. I cannot give details of this case because of the court proceedings coming up and there are children also involved that are faultless. But, this case is one of the sickest I have had to deal with, simply because the owner of the dog had no legitimate excuse for these actions. This whole terrible incident makes no sense whatsoever and the dog or any animal for that matter does not deserve to die in this manner. I spoke to neighbors who say they called the authorities and made numerous complaints and this was looked into. The problem was that no one knew that the dog was not at least being fed. The reason for this is the owner, on top of everything else, had the nerve to go to the residence every day and retrieve the mail, never stopping to feed or water the dog. It would have been better if the owner had let the dog out to fend for it. If that were the case, then maybe it would be alive today.
