Sensei Nicole Merced's Teaching Philosophy: I believe that when teaching martial arts it is important to instill a sense of comfort and self esteem in a child, while at the same time incorporating discipline. I feel that this approach builds the child's confidence without the need for intimidation which can be detrimental to the learning process. You want to pass on the knowledge you have gained to your students and make sure that they learn and understand the concepts of honor as well as respect, which to me are the key components of the martial arts.

A Bit About Sensei Nicole Merced: I began my training when I was about 9 years old along with my dad and brother. It initially started as a family activity but soon I realized it was a part of my life. The martial arts is something that becomes you not only physically but mentally too. I have now been training for almost 13 years.
